Inmate Rules

The following information pertains to the Rules and Regulations implemented at the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

1. Inmates are only allowed to receive the following items:

Money orders, three (3) paperback books.

2. All visitation appointments require scheduling 24 hours in advance. The visitation schedule is as follows:

Mondays: Work Release Inmates: 6:00pm, 7:00pm & 8:00pm.

Tuesdays: Female Inmates: 9:00am, 10:00am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm, & 8:00pm.

Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, & Sundays: Male Inmates: 9:00am, 10:00am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm, & 8:00pm.

Inmates are granted ONE visitation appointment per week. A maximum of three people may visit an inmate at one time. All visitors must sign in for visitation 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time and must present a valid picture I.D.!!

PURSES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE FACILITY

3. Once verified, an inmate's money can now be released on the following Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 0800hrs and 1200hrs. The pink slip or a state issued picture ID is required before money can be released.

4. All inmate correspondence must be sent via the postal system. Any item sent to an inmate, which is unauthorized, will be returned to the sender. Any item sent to an inmate, which is considered to be contraband, will be discarded.
