Sheriff Ted Sexton

The School Resource Officers service all the schools in the Tuscaloosa County Schools System. They are responsible for maintaing order within their assigned schools and enforcing applicable state laws. They are trained first responders in the event of an emergency. They also teach such classes as Gang Awareness, Anti-DUI, and Anti-Smoking. The unit is headed by Capt. Byron Waid
